As a Class 1 driver with Tuc’s Contracting, you will operate various equipment including, but not limited to: B-Trains (potable water, fluid hauling, TDG & NON TDG), Water Tandem or Tri-Axle Truck & Quad Wagon, Tandem or Tri-Axle Water Truck, Tandem or Tri-Axle Vacuum Truck, Semi Vac Units, Tanker Units. You will actively participate in all safety initiatives, perform pre/post inspections on vehicles, pumps, equipment, tools, etc., and complete billing and time cards.

The shift rotation for this position is 10/4 or 14/7.  Shift is flexible to accommodate employer/employee needs.

Qualifications

  • Class 1 Driver’s license
  • Clean 5 year driver’s abstract/commercial driver’s abstract
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience required
  • Fluid hauling experience considered an asset
  • Proficiency in reading, writing and understanding English
  • First Aid, CSTS, H2S, TDG training required
  • Must be able to access major oilsands sites (no site bans)

Based in our 12 bay shop in Fort McMurray, as a Heavy Duty Mechanic with Tuc’s Contracting, your responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Commercial vehicle inspections (CVI)
  • All preventative maintenance and repairs
  • Mobile repair service
  • Tractor/trailer alignments
  • Air conditioning maintenance and repairs
  • Exhaust and DPF replacement
  • Engine diagnostics (Detroit, Cummins, CAT & Mercedes)
  • Tire installation, repair and balancing
  • Fleet maintenance programs available

You will actively participate in all shop safety initiatives.

The shift rotation for this position is a 7/7, 5/2 and 10/4.  Shift is flexible to accommodate employer/employee needs.

Qualifications

  • Interprovincial Journeyman ticket (Red Seal) required
  • Class 5 Driver’s license
  • Clean 5 year driver’s abstract
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience required
  • Experience working on the following units are required: Hydrovacs, Steamers, Vac Trucks, Potable Water Trucks, TDG & NON TDG Tanks, Gravel Trucks
  • Experience on Highway Tractor maintenance is considered an asset
  • Proficiency in reading, writing and understanding English
  • First Aid, CSTS, and OSSA required

  • Shoring installation
  • Utility Locates
  • Trenching
  • Tank Cleaning
  • Debris removal and tank cleanouts

  • Dewatering
  • Small pipe flushing
  • Sump cleanouts

  • Pipeline and valve thawing
  • Steam cleaning: plant structures, buildings, process facilities, wellheads, pipelines, tanks, large vessels
